Wild Wednesday

Family-friendly -- lots of kids in Wild attire with their dads (and moms). Probably because parents could actually afford to take even younger kids with short attention spans to a free scrimmage. This was a very astute move on the part of team management. Even if these specific kids don't attend any games in person this year, they'll now have great memories and points of reference when they watch games on TV. So probably they'll grow into loyal fans and regular attendees as they get older. Having all of the "just like a real game" elements in place made it much more special than just another scrimmage. Hope the team repeats this event in coming seasons. My 4-year old grandson sure was pumped to be there -- and I never would have sprung for a full-price regular game ticket for him, knowing that he would probably run out of energy and crash long before the final horn sounded (which in fact did happen).
